How old do you think these English muffins are?
The ExperimentSince the date of purchase, I have exposed this package of English muffins (unspecified brand) to extreme summer heat in my car for several consecutive months and every environment I could think of to encourage spoilage and mold growth. After one year, they still look and feel the same. No mold! A simple life form will not even feed on them.
If food does not support life, why eat it? The preservatives and mold inhibitors in processed foods kill beneficial bacteria populations in the intestines. This sets the stage for some of the worst diseases known to man. In addition, chemicals cause unwanted symptoms and organ damage.
Mold inhibitorsBiphenyl and Diphenyl - may cause nausea, vomiting, eye or nose irritation.
Dough Conditioners - Reduce mineral availability.
Calcium Sulfate - may constipate. Can kill rodents.
Ammonium Chloride - may cause gastrointestinal distress, mouth ulcers, nausea, kidney and liver problems.
Sodium Propionate - may cause behavioral changes, headaches, blood pressure problems, kidney disturbances, water retention
Propionic Acid - may trigger behavior changes.
Ascorbic Acid - synthetic vitamin C; may be corn based, GMO. May cause vitamin and mineral deficiencies, nutrient malabsorption.
Calcium propionate - may cause severe stomach ulcers and has the potential to cause permanent damage to stomach lining by exacerbating gastritis, induce a myriad of behavioral changes; irritability, restlessness, inattention and sleep disturbances.
Potassium Sorbate - may cause kidney or heart problems.
Mono- and Dyglycerides - may be soy, corn based, GMO, peanut or fat based; not adequately tested.
They are advertised as "low fat", "cholesterol free", "Og trans fats", "no high fructose corn syrup", "all natural", "heart healthy"... These are all marketing gimmicks. Know what you are putting in your body, please. What you don't know, will hurt you. Ignorance is not bliss. I share, because I care. I consumed hundreds of english muffins all through my 20's, not knowing their potential effects and their contribution to my declining health.
